Fixing Drive Access Denied in Strada

If you accidentally denied Strada permission to access your drive or folder, don’t worry—you can reset the permissions and re-enable access.

1) Understand What Happened

  • When Strada first tries to access a new drive or folder, your operating system (macOS or Windows) may ask you to grant permission.

  • If you clicked Deny (or closed the prompt), Strada won’t be able to read from or write to that drive.

2) On macOS

  • Open System Settings → Privacy & Security.

  • In the left menu, go to Files and Folders (or Full Disk Access if you denied full access).

  • Find Strada in the list of apps.

  • Check the box next to the drives or folders you want Strada to use.

  • If you don’t see the drive listed, give Strada Full Disk Access:

  • Go to Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access.

  • Enable the toggle for Strada.

  • Quit and restart Strada to apply changes.

3) On Windows

  • Open Settings → Privacy & security → File system.

  • Scroll down to Let apps access your file system and make sure it’s turned On.

  • Scroll further to Choose which apps can access your file system and enable Strada.

  • If you denied access to a specific folder or external drive, re-mount it in File Explorer, then re-add it in Strada (via + Add Drive).

  • Try reinstalling the Agent and grant permissions when prompted.

4) Re-Add the Drive in Strada

  • Launch the Strada desktop app.

  • Go to Drives / Media.

  • Click + Add Drive (or Add Folder) and select the drive you want Strada to access.

  • Ensure Share this drive/folder is checked.

5) Confirm It Works

  • Try to open a file from that drive in Strada.

  • If it plays or downloads normally, permissions are restored.

  • If not, quit and restart Strada (and your computer if needed).

6) Troubleshooting

  • Strada not showing in Privacy settings (macOS): Reinstall Strada; the system will prompt you for access again.

  • Still blocked after toggling permissions: Remove Strada from the list, restart, then re-add permissions.

  • External drive not listed: Ensure it’s mounted/unlocked in Finder (macOS) or File Explorer (Windows).

The Bottom Line

If you deny Strada access by mistake, just revisit your OS privacy settings, re-enable permissions, and re-add the drive in Strada. Once fixed, your files will be instantly available to share again.
