Disable Drive Sleep

Drives that go to sleep will slow down Strada access

Written by Michael Cioni

Many drives and computers are setup to turn off drives to save on power when not in use. This is not a good default setting with Strada because it can limit performance.

We recommend you disable any sleep settings or energy saving settings on the computer connected to Strada drives.

To Disable on Mac go to:

SYSTEM SETTINGS > BATTERY > OPTIONS

Then turn ON "Prevent automatic sleeping"
and Disable "Put hard disks to sleep when possible" (set to "Never")

To Disable on Windows go to:

CONTROL PANEL > HARDWARE & POWER > HDD HIBERNATION
Then turn off the ability for the drive to cycle down.

BE SURE TO RESTART THE COMPUTER
